Gal & Quaglia Studio specialize in bespoke residential, commercial, hospitality, aviation, and maritime projects. Located in Palm Beach, New York City and Philadelphia, we work collaboratively across cities and disciplines, bringing fresh energy and thoughtful craft to every project.

Founded by Michael Quaglia and Gal Norcross, the studio was born from a passion of blending modern innovation with tradition. Their perspective is shaped by deep knowledge, a commitment to detail, and an ever-evolving curiosity. The studio evolved and this partnership was a natural response to the work, friendship and admiration they had for each other.

GQS specializes in design through experience and art. The team develops custom art to enhance the narrative- mostly originals by our co-founder, Michael. Michael collaborates with the projects, surroundings and materials. Their art studio provides another level of thoughtful craft and purpose to an immersive experience.

Our Founders

Gal Norcross began her academic career studying biology with the intention of pursuing a career in medicine. Her early professional experience spanned multiple areas of the medical field, including HIV/AIDS research, work in the emergency department in Camden, and time in the operating room alongside professionals specializing in post-cancer reconstruction.

While deeply meaningful, these experiences revealed how disconnected many medical environments can feel, particularly in spaces with little connection to the outside world. This awareness sparked a deeper curiosity around how the built environment could better support healing, performance, and overall well-being for both patients and medical professionals.

That curiosity led Gal to biophillic design —a science-based approach that integrates nature and the built environment—and ultimately into the world of interior architecture. Guided by research demonstrating how thoughtful design can reduce stress, accelerate healing, and enhance human performance, she transitioned into design through healthcare-focused projects before expanding into high-end residential work.

Gal holds a degree in biology and a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture from Drexel University. She now specializes in high-end residential, aviation, and maritime interiors. Influenced by extensive global travel, her work reflects a refined understanding of materiality, light, and the relationship between interior space and the natural world.

Known for discretion, sophistication, and flawless execution, Gal brings a deeply collaborative approach to every project—creating purposeful, elevated environments that feel both effortless and profoundly personal. Gal resides in Philadelphia with her husband, daughter and two dogs.

Michael Quaglia holds a Bachelors in Interior Design with a Minor in Architecture from Drexel University. He began his career in Philadelphia, contributing to leading studios across corporate, residential, and hospitality design before relocating to New York City to further expand his portfolio. Michael is a well-known traveling artist- mostly inspired by landscapes that shaped his childhood. His work has gained attention and can be seen in our projects.

Raised between Philadelphia and New York City—and deeply influenced by summers spent in Poland and Italy—Michael developed a design philosophy rooted in culture, craft, hospitality, and emotional resonance. His work reflects a timeless, globally informed aesthetic shaped by extensive travel and a lifelong appreciation for art and architecture. His strategic, client-centered approach has been instrumental in securing and managing high-profile projects while fostering strong, lasting relationships.

Michael holds WELL AP, LEED GA, and NCARB certifications, reinforcing his commitment to wellness-driven, sustainable design practices.
